The house is close to Santa Maria di Leuca, on the Ionian coast, 2 km away from thestunning sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of Salves’ marina (Pescoluse and Torre Vado). Perched on a hill with a beautiful sea view, Villa Arcoreo has been recently restored in the traditional style of Puglian homes, though furnished with trendy and contemporary touches. The house is surrounded by a 5600m2 (6000 sq ft) garden, where peace and privacy are fully guaranteed.
The house is organized in two units: the main body and the annex, a Pajara (typical rural construction of the Salento).
The main body, facing the sea, is surrounded by a half-moon shaped terrace. This shady terrace is fully-furnished to relax and take the most out of the glorious sunset views. Inside, the bright living-room, with three sofa (1 sofa bed), is the central room providing access to the rest of the house. On its right, is a large kitchen/dining-area featuring a table for up to 8 guests. From here, a corridor leads to an elegant double bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom with shower. From the living-room, a corridor leads to the night area, passing by a laundry/storage room. On the left, is a beautiful family bathroom (with bathtub), a bit further on the right, a double bedroom with ancient dry-stone walls and at the end of the corridor on the right, after a flight of 3 steps, one reaches a double bedroom with a chair-bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Outside, the shady terrace is furnished with two tables allowing for up to 12 guests, deck-chairs and sunbeds. The dependence is 30 meters away from the house, across the country-style garden behind the main house.
The annex is an ancient construction in dry-stones, traditional farm building of the Salento called Trullo or Pajara. The 4th double bedroom (extra bed on request available) with its en-suite bathroom with shower is located in this Pajara.
N.B.: The outside environment of the house is simple and rural, with no particular luxury and comfort. It is a traditional Puglian countryside, well cared for but in its natural state with vegetation commonly found in the area. The house is partially fenced, with a low dry-stone wall (80cm high) and there is no gate closing the entrance of the property.
The house is located close to the beautiful sandy beaches of Pesculuse (the “Maldives” of the Salento), with its good selection of bars, restaurants and beach resorts. Only 8 km away from the house, lies the famous and lovely historic center of Presicce. In a c.20 minutes’ drive, you can reach the historic town of Gallipoli with its renowned beaches and its famous old town, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Casa Arcoreo, is 50 minutes from Lecce, famous for its baroque architecture and 80 minutes from Brindisi airport. Although the house is very easy to reach, it is recommended to have a car to visit the local area and fully appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Rental cars are available at Brindisi airport and in other towns.
