Porto Cesareo is on the Ionian coast of Salento, at less than 30 km from Lecce and from the lively Gallipoli. Amongst the most beautiful, Punta Prosciutto, with immense white sandy beaches and absolutely crystal-clear waters.
Lecce has an amazingly rich artistic heritage, dating back to ancient Roman times through to Medieval ages, to the especially glorious XVI cent. with its typical Baroque style. One can admire all this architectural beauty by simply walking through the streets and alleys of its historic centre, discovering small squares and courts, balconies, terraces and façades preciously decorated by the art of the masons of the time. Amongst the many sites to visit, we recommend the Basilica di Santa Croce with the adjoined ex-Convento dei Celestini.
