Description
Placed in one of the most typical areas of Salento, Villetta Fraula is a small but lovely countryside house, surrounded by century-old olive trees and rosemary bushes. The house has been conceived and decorated with great attention to detail, and a special taste in merging together elements typical of the local tradition with some of a more modern design -as an example, an ancient limestone basin has been turned into the kitchen sink; the flooring throughout is made of “pietra leccese”, the building material characteristic of the Salento-. Inside, the white walls and the furnishings beige and brown palette keep harmony with the colors of the nature outside. Throughout the villa, one will definitely be caught by its rustic, yet relaxing and fascinating atmosphere.
While enjoying the peacefulness of being nestled in the most typical countryside landscape, Villetta Fraula is yet 3 km away from the small town of Spongano, with delightful little restaurants in its baroque historic center. And besides, just 9 km ahead in the opposite direction, the deep blue sea of the beautiful coast of Castro is there for you to discover.
Inside, a spacious living room with sofas and armchairs, and characterized by a barrel-vaulted ceiling, serves all the other areas of the house; on two sides of this very bright space, three wide glass doors allow to exit on to the garden; on another side, there is the small kitchen area, while on the remaining one, one accesses the sleeping area; here, a passageway serves two double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and to a minimalist walk-in closet. Both bedrooms feature open wardrobes, one made of wood, while the other of wrought iron, that reflect the minimalist decor of the house.
Outside, the house is paved all-round with the typical “chianca” (a stone locally used for outdoor pavements) creating a wide space, equipped with garden furniture, where to lounge gazing at the olive grove in all directions. This area is perfect to have lunch or dinner al fresco, sunbathe after a plunge in the lovely pool laying between the white stone and the red soil, relaxing with a good book in the shade of the olive trees, or looking at the summer night sky full of stars.
Given its location and its interiors, Villetta Fraula is the ideal holiday house for those who are keen to discover the truest taste of the Salento, a land characterized by not only the amazing sea, beach clubs and renowned towns, but also by the inland of Mediterranean countryside, made of olive groves, red soil, and precious silence.
