Located in the heart of the authentic Salento village of Cannole, just minutes from Otranto and the crystal-clear Alimini beaches, La Casa delle Stelle is a historic luxury villa with private pool, where heritage architecture meets contemporary design and art.
The property was once the village bakery, where bread was baked in two large stone ovens that today, following a meticulous restoration, have been transformed into the villa’s kitchen and dining area. The original soul of the house lives on through architectural details and an artistic installation of brass stars set into the courtyard floor, from which the villa takes its name.
Today, the residence offers three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a bright open-plan living area with island kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a lush tropical garden. Outdoors, a 12-metre private swimming pool set within the garden is surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, ensuring peace and privacy despite the central village location.
Interiors are curated with iconic Danish and Italian design pieces by Alvar Aalto, Hans Wegner, Vico Magistretti and Børge Mogensen, alongside contemporary artworks that create a refined, gallery-like atmosphere.
Outdoors, guests enjoy a covered terrace ideal for al fresco dining, a sun-drenched pool area by day and a softly illuminated garden by night. The garden unfolds through small paths and secluded corners, perfect for quiet moments of reading and relaxation, with the gentle sound of bamboo and Mediterranean plants in the background. Stepping outside the villa, you are immediately immersed in village life: cafés, wine bars and traditional restaurants are all within walking distance, while the Salento coastline, Otranto and Lecce are easily reached by car.

Good to Know
- The villa is located in the heart of the village, and as in traditional Italian towns, the church bells ring at 7 a.m.. With high-quality windows, the sound does not disturb the comfort inside the villa.- From 10 to 14 August, during the famous Festa della Municeddha, the village sees large crowds with stalls and festivities. This may affect mobility in general, above in those days.
