Description
Villa Artesia is a beautiful ancient villa with pool surrounded by 8 hectares of land comprising an olive grove (with more than 1000 trees), a citrus grove and a little oak wood, located in an aristocratic residential area nearby Lecce, which is less than a 10-min drive away. The property, owned by a renowned English architect, has been exquisitely renovated, and conceived as a place where to spend time together as a family or with friends. The house is hence characterized by the presence of wide common spaces, both indoor and outside, and by a vibrant contemporary style of decor, enriched with a collection of works of Arts, photography and design pieces by 20th century artists.
The house offers 5 double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower-rooms and with the characteristic of having marble sinks in plain sight behind the beds; the master bedroom, in addition, also has a bathtub looking out to a little private Mediterranean garden, equipped with two sun-beds. Three such bedrooms also have a mezzanine, and one of them is provided with two additional single beds and also benefits of a private balcony. The bright living area of the house comprises a wide kitchen provided with the most modern equipments, and characterized by a barrel vault with visible ashlars and by a central kitchen island with marble worktop, which continues as a 12-seat dining table; a living room with a fireplace, which is also the TV room (with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV, and a collection of DVDs); a music room with wireless sound system (installed also in every other room of the house). Next to the master bedroom, there is also a spacious and bright studio with mezzanine.
Outside, on the front side of the house there is a terrace specifically conceived as a space for relaxing or for doing Yoga or exercise. Whereas on the rear side, there is a vast paved terrace furnished with a 14-seat dining table, and with garden furniture making a spacious conversation corner. Farther ahead, one finds a ping-pong corner, and last but not least the pool area (14m*4m; heated), provided with sun-beds, garden cushions, and a nice outdoor shower (with hot water), is surrounded by citrus trees and overlooks the olive grove.
