Situated in the ancient and charming hamlet of Alessano, not far from Santa Maria di Leuca and from the picturesque seaside village of Marina di Novaglie, Palazzo Remasi is a 16th century building with swimming pool, entirely renovated so to make it an enchanting residence. The entrance door, in baroque style, gives onto a tiny beautiful street in the historic centre of Alessano.
Palazzo Remasi is divided in 4 apartments situated on both the ground floor and the first floor, and can be rented out as a whole, or by single unit. There are several areas in common, which have been decorated as if they were living corners of one single house. In parallel, each apartment has its own independent access, allowing for maximum privacy.
The entrance door gives into a bright cloister which leads into a vast and bright cloister with several balconies and terraces, finely decorated with sculptures in "Pietra Leccese" (building material typical of Salento). On the right-hand side, a stone staircase leads up to the apartments on the first floor; while on the left-hand side a corridor makes way first to the apartments on the ground floor, to then end up in the beautiful courtyard with swimming pool, at the common use of all guests.
Up the staircase climbing from the cloister, there is the entrance to the first apartment, that is the apartment named Croce. Further on the balcony overlooking the cloister, a spacious hall serves as access to the apartment "Affresco" on the right.
Apt. Croce (sleep 4; on 2 levels):
This is the only apartment which is split on two levels. On the upper level: large living area with sofas and 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower. From the living area a stone staircase leads down to the ground level and gives access to a small kitchen with dining table, kitchen corner and a stone fireplace; and to 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower.
Apt. Affresco (sleep 6; 1st floor):
This is the biggest apartment of the palace and the only one featuring a private outdoor area, that is a large terrace furnished with dining table, overlooking the swimming pool. The living area is divided in an entrance hall with a beautifully restored original votive corner and ceiling frescoes; a large sitting area with sofas and flat screen TV 50’’; a dining room making way to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower. The sitting room leads, instead, both to the second double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower and to the fully equipped kitchen. Crossing through the kitchen one reaches the last shower room and the stairs leading up to the attic hosting a bedroom with a double bed (made of two single beds) and a single bed available on request.
From the cloister, a corridor on the left makes way to the apartments on the ground floor.
Apt. Arco (sleep 2+2; ground floor):
There are two independent entrances (one from the cloister and the other from the tiny street onto which the palace has its main access). This apartment includes 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower, 1 living room made up of two zones: a large sitting room with dining table and sofas from which a beautiful medieval archway opens to the second zone featuring a kitchen corner (fridge, stoves and microwave) and two single beds. The room layout and the absence inner doors make this apartment ideal for families with children.
Apt. Conchiglia (sleep 4; ground floor):
The apartment closest to the swimming pool area, visible from its windows. There are 2 double bedrooms, a bigger one with two built-in wardrobes and a smaller one as a passage way with 1 double bed; 1 bathroom/shower; living/dining room with kitchen corner (fridge, stoves and microwave). There are two independent entrances (one from the cloister and the other from the tiny street onto which the palace has its main access).
