The caves are undoubtedly places of great charm and attractiveness, some linked to mythological legends, others become home to religious rites or simply votives, others decorated with cave paintings of great historical and cultural value, and still others offer, with unique combinations of stalactites and stalagmites, beautiful natural scenery. Unfortunately, only some of these caves are open to visitors, others are closed to the public. Still others are accessible only by sea, others, more or less easily, from the mainland. Nevertheless, the Apulian caves have always had a unique charm because of the suggestion that color, shape and position have on those who have the good fortune to observe them up close!
